Signalyze Memory Setup Guide

The following is a quick summary of the steps to take in setting up Signalyze for signal analysis. Follow the links for more information on any step.

I. Decide how much memory to give Signalyze - tell me more

Suggested minimum: 2000k minimum; 4000k preferred.
    Recommended: 8000k minimum; 8000k preferred.
    Optimal: 16000k minimum; 16000k preferred.

II. Set Signalyze's overall program memory - tell me more

Do this in Signalyze's Get Info window via the Finder.

III. Set Signalyze's Calculation & Signal memory - tell me more

    Recommended:

    • set Calculation memory to 1/4 of Signalyze's overall program memory (e.g. 4M if overall memory is set to 16M in the Finder's Get Info window)
    • set Signal memory to 3/4 of Signalyze's overall program memory (e.g. 12M if overall memory is set to 16M)

IV. Restart Signalyze for the changes to take effect.

If you get an Out of Memory error message (Error -1), first try increasing your Calculation memory and/or reducing your Signal memory (step 3), then repeat step 4.
