III. Set Signalyze's signal & calculation memorySignalyze's signal & calculation memory are set in the Signalyze Startup Options dialog window. Follow the steps below: 1. Start up Signalyze, if it isn't already running. 2. Open up the Startup Options... dialog via the Edit menu. 3. Set the Calculation Memory at the top of Signalyze's Startup Options... window (the bottom field of the two). Recommended: 4M if available (with 16M overall program memory) 4. Set the Signal Memory (the top field of the two). Suggested: (Signal Memory) = (Overall program memory) - (Calculation memory) 5. Close the Startup Options... window by clicking Save. 6. Quit Signalyze and start it up again. 7. Verify your settings in the About Signalyze... window via the Apple Menu.
If there is much less memory indicated in the window than you requested, something prevented Signalyze from getting all the memory you asked it to. Be sure and check the following:
If you are having problems with crashes while you are generating splines or spectrograms, it might be due to your Mac's System 'bumping into' Signalyze's Calculation Memory. If you cannot increase your Mac's memory, or Signalyze's overall program memory, try this:
Hopefully the calculation memory you gained will be enough to successfully complete the calculation. |
