III. Set Signalyze's signal & calculation memorySignalyze's signal & calculation memory are set in the Signalyze Startup Options dialog window. To set them: 1. Start up Signalyze, if it isn't already running:
2. Open up the Startup Options... dialog via Signalyze's Edit menu:
3. Set the Calculation Memory (the bottom field of the two):
Recommended: 4M if available (with 16M overall program memory) 4. Set the Signal Memory (the top field of the two in the figure above): Suggested: (Signal Memory) = (Overall program memory) - (Calculation memory) 5. Close the Startup Options... window by clicking Save (see the figure above). 6. Quit Signalyze...
and start it up again:
7. Verify your settings in the About Signalyze... window. Open the About Signalyze... window via the Apple Menu (make sure that Signalyze is the front-most application):
Check the Calculation memory left and Allocated signal memory figures in the lower left of the window:
The values shown there should be very close to what you requested in the Startup Options... window.
If there is much less memory indicated in the window than you requested, something prevented Signalyze from getting all the memory you asked it to. Be sure and check the following:
If you are having problems with crashes while you are generating splines or spectrograms, it might be due to your Mac's System 'bumping into' Signalyze's Calculation Memory. If you cannot increase your Mac's memory, or Signalyze's overall program memory, try this:
Hopefully the calculation memory you gained will be enough to successfully complete the calculation. |
